Shady Lady - Now for something a little different!

Screen Shot 2014-10-29 at 7.03.20 PM
I need to take a step away from all the awesome nail polish, other beauty tips, and the online savings I've found and talk about my friend Graham Moseley Brown. He and I met way back in 2006(ish) in Mesa, Arizona at Inside the Bungalow. I was there with my buddy Tyler and we were there to sing a their open mic night and there we met up with Graham.
Graham is such an amazing singer and an even more of an amazing person. He's always smiling and always friendly. The three of us connected that night and they would invite me up to sing with them for some of my most favorite songs.
Here's some pics of those times. (Bet you didn't think I had these huh Graham? Lol.)

And here's some pictures from us at Inside the Bungalow.

Anyway enough with the trip down memory lane!
The point of this post is to encourage you all to please go check out Graham's incredible new single "Shady Lady". I really love it and it has shown how much Graham has grown as a musician. So please go check it out on his Facebook page. You can download it for FREE HERE. Or you can help Graham out and purchase the new song on iTunes.
Thanks for checking this out and taking a trip down memory lane with me!

Mystic Muse Lacquers Unboxing!

MML Unboxing
I am so excited about this unboxing! I absolutely LOVE the color and the packaging Mystic Muse Lacquers sent out. They actually might have over did it as far as the packaging, but my box got epically squished (see pics below) but it all arrived safely. Here's a Facebook link for Mystic Muse!
Mystic Muse Lacquers is a new Indie Polish that just launched this month and I snagged Lady Katrina in their presell. I was so impressed with the packaging I am going to order "Witchy".
Here's the pictures of what I got:

See what I meant about the horribly squished box?

DIY Makeup Brush Holder

Brush Holder Collage
While out grocery shopping recently I randomly saw these little containers in the "other cultures" section.
IMG_0111
Upon closer inspection I realized they were actually pretty freaking adorable glass jars. So I decided to grab a few and see how they would work as a makeup brush holder.
IMG_0321
BEST. IDEA. EVER.
They were legitimately a pain in the arse to clean but hey... nothing worth doing doesn't usually suck at first. So here's the details on how I did it!
IMG_0325
Those are the tools I used to complete this task.
IMG_0333
First you have to get the thing open with out making a HUGE mess. I ended up using the can opener thingy from one of my husbands utility knives and carefully popped the top. The lid is seriously stuck on the little jars so be careful when opening it.
IMG_0326
Once opened prepare for the creepy mixture. And the smell isn't so great either. On the very top is some gel type mixture.
IMG_0323
Once you get rid of that, you will be stuck with a hard mixture of "goop". That's seriously the best and only word I can use to describe it.
IMG_0328
This stuff is pretty solid so I would use a huge knife (see one pictured above) to get the gunk out. It took me a while to do the first one but once I figured out the best way (jam the knife into the mixture and try to push it all the way down to the base of the glass so some air can get in there) it was pretty easily done after that.
IMG_0330
Bamn! Empty and cleanable container!
IMG_0335
Now the labels on these containers suck and I do NOT suggest trying to peel them off. Instead soak those suckers for about an hour in warm water. The labels will peel off and you will be able to scratch off the residue left with your finger nails or a spoon.
IMG_1546
Wa la! Cute brush holders!
IMG_1543
NOTE: There are two different designs available apparently. I just happened to pick up two of each.
So there you have it! Cute and cheap-ish makeup brush holders.

Twice Review!

Twice
I am so excited about this purse! I've been wanting this purse for EVER. And I finally was able to grab it!
I found it on Twice and was so excited I wrote a post about it immediately.
When I opened it I was initially disappointed, because it smelled so strongly of whomever owned it before. The perfume smell was really, really bad. I left it out in the open and thankfully it has aired out enough so that I'm able to use it. I am super allergic to perfumes but thankfully it turned out to be ok.
IMG_1526
The purse itself was in ok condition. It was a little more used than I had anticipated. Twice should consider putting up more pictures, especially for the higher end items they are selling on their website.
IMG_1527
This little strap used to close the main compartment was obviously damaged.
IMG_1529
The bottom of the purse had definitely been used and this was not clearly described in the listing on the website.
IMG_1533
The inside definitely could have been cleaned better before sending out to a new customer.
IMG_1535
I did email Twice about the condition of the purse when I received it and they were super apologetic and offered me an in-store credit.
Overall I'm pretty happy with my purchase and experience with Twice and will definitely purchase again. (I'll be sure to post the details when I do!) I am going to be emailing them about adding more images to their listings and hopefully they will. I'll keep you all posted on that.
Don't forget to use the information I posted HERE on how to get $20 for free and also get 50% OFF!

Black Dahlia Lacquer Launch!

BDL
I am so excited about the launch of Black Dahlia Lacquer! I can't wait to get the polishes I ordered from them!
I was lucky enough to be chosen to review one of their tester polishes back in July and I was amazed how pigmented it was. In the pictures below I only have 2 coats on my pointer finger, the other fingers are just one coat.

The company is a mother-daughter team based out of Austin, Texas. Not only is it hand-crafted polish line but it is also vegan, and 5-free!
Here are the colors I should be getting next week. And yes I will definitely be reviewing them once I get them in!

BEACH HYDRANGEA - As my friend pointed out, this looks like Elsa's dress from Frozen! I thought that was a spot on description! This is the description from their website "Beach Hydrangea is a cornflower blue holo polish that is opaque in two coats."

Screen Shot 2014-10-02 at 8.50.14 PM

WILD CHERRY BLOSSOMS - I can't WAIT to get this color in. I'm usually not very much into pink colors, but for some reason I just LOVE this color. It's so SHINY! Here's the information from the website "Wild Cherry Blossoms is a pink-tinged red holo nail polish. It is opaque in two coats."

Screen Shot 2014-10-02 at 8.50.33 PM

SILVER WILLOW - I love this color too! I actually really love all the colors lol. But this one is fantastic! Here's the description from the website "Silver Willow is an intense silver blue holo with added violet shimmer."

Make sure to follow Black Dahlia Lacquer on Facebook and Twitter. I believe they have a 10% OFF coupon code once you like their Facebook page. And if you see anything in the collection make sure to let them know I sent you!
